What We Do
REPSSI programme is anchored on the social ecology framework. Although our activities are centered on children, we work to improve families and the communities around them by participating in government processes, coordinating with various technical groups as well as creating a more conducive policy environment.ย In the 13 countries we operate, REPSSI has been mainstreaming psychosocial support into government departments of social welfare, health and education.
Protection and sustainable livelihoods
REPSSI promotes psychosocial support towards strengthening national and community social protection systems. This will help prevent and respond to violence against children and women
Health and sexual reproductive health rights
This includes continued and deeper focus on mental health; HIV prevention, testing, treatment and care; sexual and reproductive health and rights.
Education and early childhood development
We promote positive psychosocial environments in schools and training institutions to improve education and development outcomes. We also support early childhood development.
Disaster, risk reduction and humanitarian response
We build resilience to protect the environment and reduce climate change. We also respond to disasters and humanitarian emergencies in the region.
Africa Psychosocial Support Institute (APSSI)
